Focus on the Road
A downloadable game
Focus on the Road is a solo game about doing a road trip across a huge country of your choice. Along your journey you will meet interesting people and try to become friends with them. You will visit unique places such as impressive natural landmarks, unmissable diners or world famous monuments. You will use your instant camera to take stunning pictures of these landmarks and some people would love to trade for these pictures.
What do you need to play?
- An eight sided die (1d8) and a four sided die (1d4);
- Printed or sketched discussion tables from either pages 12-19 (full set) or page 20 (compact table);
- Printed or sketched Roadbook (page 27);
- Pen or pencil;
- A fuel tank token (a small cube, button, candy, etc);
- (optional) A journal if you wish to write down your adventures.

It's truly a great idea, and I'm going to play it next weekend! I was actually thinking about creating my own game on this theme, but you did it fantastically. Congratulations! Probably, due to my solo playstyle, I'll use simple yes-or-no oracles and some additional generators to create NPCs randomly.

I thought about including some additional random generators directly in Focus on the Road (passenger name, road descriptors, etc). I did not for several reasons: in it current state the game encourages imagining missing details, it does not heavily anchor the road trip to the prototypical US context, etc. I encourage you to use external generators! Have fun!
