v.0.3 - First transcription
Hello everyone!
Clutch Decisions just got an update and a new version 0.3 is now available for download. The book now has a new section called "Real life roads transcriptions" with the first rally stage being added. This German stage is called Flugzeugring, after its depicting in DiRT Rally video game, and it uses the roads that are now part of Rallye Deutschland for over 20 years.
I had the idea of adding real life roads to Clutch Decisions since a couple of months but it required much more work than I expected. Real pacenotes are not easily accessible and, at best, are extremely expensive. I was not even able to find some outdated pacenotes or rally archives. However, I still managed to find a solution. DiRT Rally video game provides a really good virtual copy of real roads as well as corresponding pacenotes. I found an excellent collection of DiRT Rally pacenotes by Max Bechtold who kindly allowed me to use it as a starting point for my work. Then, I choose Flugzeugring as a fairly straightforward stage to do my first transcription, found the corresponding real-life place on a map and started to translate the pacenotes into the Clutch Decisions format. I have to admit, it was quite a lot of work despite using Max's pacenotes as a guideline. But it is now complete and published and I am very happy of the result.
I also decided that it is probably the right moment to add a front cover.
Thanks to all those who took some time to read Clutch Decisions so far. I got quite a few feedbacks and I am really happy that it allows people to enjoy car scenes a bit more at your TTRPG tables. See you next time!
